Analyst Programmer (SAS, ETL, or Java)

A leading insurer is expanding the team, hiring a developer with skills in SAS, ETL, and/or Java.


What you'll need to succeed
  • Responsible for technical and architectural support of IFRS 17 Project, exercise proper management control to ensure all application systems related activities / projects are carried out and completed on schedule as planned to meet project and business objectives
  • Liaise with users on new application systems related projects, and assist IT project lead to monitor and manage the progress of projects and change requests
  • Liaise with vendors and consultants in project delivery, quality assurance, on-going system maintenance and support
  • Work with consultant & business team to document, review and approve IFRS17 data / technical architecture design, ensure all documentation are completed on time, maintained up-to-date and good with quality
  • Assist in preparing system test plans and support SIT/UAT tests, and exercise the quality control function and activities on all projects and change requests
  • Perform user support, training and cross team knowledge transfer in IT for IFRS 17 Project
  • Perform ad hoc job related duties as assigned by supervisor

Skills and Qualification
  • Degree holder in Computer Science / Studies, or Information Management
  • Minimum 2-4 years’ experience in leading IT functions, preferable in insurance industry
  • Experience in IT support on Finance and / or Actuarial systems and processes is preferable
  • Hands on experience in ETL, sub-ledger and / or understanding of IFRS17 standard is an advantage
  • Knowledge in Oracle, database, application development in SAS and Java, is preferable
  • Good knowledge in IT system designs and technical capabilities
  • Knowledge in Life Insurance transactions and procedures and experience in system support on eBao policy admin system is preferable
  • Preferably to have ITIL foundation certification
  • Candidates with less experience will be considered as Analyst Developer
