My client is a world-class manufacturer specialises in high volume semiconductor production, based in Hong Kong. They are looking for Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to lead their projects.

Your new role

• Lead the system design of high-speed high precision Semiconductors equipment, from conceptual until production release
• Execute design activities to meet system/unit performance requirements
• Work closely with engineers of other disciplines to realize solutions fulfilling customer requirement
• Responsible for the development of new concepts for building blocks to improve or enhance existing equipment
• Work closely with customer to compile performance requirement and verify if the objective is conceptually feasible
• Being project leader to lead the development managing the time and cost
• Conduct pre-studies (calculations, modeling, experiments, measurements), dFMEA and system/unit level risk assessment to verify ideas and adjust the global design if necessary
• Manage subcons for fabrication and/or design outsource
• Document related processes, BOM and manage design documentation
• Conduct part failure analysis and define corrective actions for customer complaints/incidents

What you'll need to succeed

• Minimum 8 years proven skills / experience in high performance Equipment system design
• MSc/BSc in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics
• Knowledge on machine vision will be an advantage
• Sound knowledge in CAD, PDM, MATLAB simulation, FEM modeling, system control and Mechatronics
• Good interpersonal skills and able to deliver results through determination and team-work
• Mature, with customer-oriented attitude and innovative
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Familiar with 6-sigma, 8D and Poke-Yoke methods
• Excellent communication skills with fluency in English and Mandarin
• Able to work independently and under pressure
• Flexibility to travel overseas and to Mainland China
