Senior Legal Counsel, APAC, Global Retail
Excellent in-house opportunity for mid to senior level commercial lawyers who have APAC experience
Your new company
Our client is a reputable retail group with global operations that you can literally see their brands everywhere in the world. They are seeking a senior commercial lawyer with high calibre to join their regional legal team of six.
Your new role
- Work effectively with the business teams and stakeholders in supporting the roll out of new projects across APAC region from the legal perspectives
- Provide legal advice on a full scope of general commercial and regulatory matters, including employment, data privacy as well as dispute resolution
- Be responsible for contract drafting, review and negotiation in daily operations
- Identify potential legal risks; analyse and provide pragmatic solutions to the business leaders on regulatory issues within the jurisdictions
- Liaise with external counsels when needed
- Enhance corporate governance by delivering training to business teams and improving legal and compliance framework
What you'll need to succeed
- Hong Kong qualified lawyer with 10-15 years of post-qualification experience
- APAC in-house legal experience on areas such as employment, IT, data privacy is highly preferred
- Self-motivated, ability to work independently under fast pace
- Attentive to details, with strong business acumen
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Mandarin
