Our client is one of the largest banks that has a global footprint with offices, client networks as well as businesses across the world. Due to the recent business needs, they are looking for a high calibre legal professional to join their Equities team.

What you'll need to succeed

• Act as a senior advisor to provide pragmatic support on OTC and non-OTC derivatives, derivatives based financing and structured transactions involving primarily listed equities
• Participate in the entire transaction lifecycle including new product development, assisting with documentation (e.g. reviewing structured notes term sheet), developing templates and liaising with external counsel
• Advise on market access products in relation to emerging markets jurisdictions across APAC and stewarding the business under the applicable legal and regulatory environment for the relevant area of coverage
• Assist on legal, regulatory, product and sales related issues and initiatives in the Equities and Securities Financing business
• Identify and mitigate legal risks; formulate and execute legal policies, procedures and controls to ensure the Group’s business is growing in a safe and sustainable manner

What you'll get in return

• Qualified lawyer with minimum 5 years’ PQE at private practice and/or relevant in-house corporate experience with a financial institution

• Strong transactional background in the derivatives field across the major jurisdictions
• Sound legal knowledge and experience of corporate equities derivative: listed company shareholders / M&A transactions

• Ability to handle complex legal issues independently
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills and a team player
• Fluency in both English and Chinese
